Come to The Wharf for free themed dance nights with live music on the second Friday in June, July, and August at 7pm. Each night will feature a different style of music and dancing.

2023 Lineup

On select Fridays throughout the summer, meet us on either Transit Pier or District Pier at The Wharf to enjoy free dance nights with dance instructors and live music.

June 9: Swing Dance with Tom and Debra of Gottaswing and music from The Nighthawks
July 7: Country Line Dance with DC Rawhides and music from the Wil Gravatt Band
August 11: Salsa Dance with Salsa by Silvia and music from Cubano Groove (Located on District Pier)
September 15 (Special Edition): Polka Dance to kickoff Oktoberfest Weekend at The Wharf

Event Details

Friday Night Dancing in June, July and September takes place at Transit Pier at The Wharf (970 Wharf Street SW, Washington, DC 20024). Friday Night Dancing on August 11 takes place on District Pier at The Wharf (101 District Square SW, Washington, DC 20024). Learn more about different ways to Get to The Wharf.
Dance lessons begin at 7:00pm, followed by open dancing.
This event is family-friendly—all ages are welcome. You must be 21+ to consume alcohol.
Waterside bar Cantina Bambina serves up cold Pacifico and mixed drinks throughout the event. Outside drinks are not allowed.
In the event of inclement weather, event status updates will be posted on The Wharf Facebook page.
