It’s that time of year—put on your dirndl or lederhosen, grab your Dachshund, and head to The Wharf to celebrate Oktoberfest—including the return of the Wiener 500 Dachshund Dash! Join us from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 2nd for a day of German-inspired food and fun featuring:
Wiener 500 Dachshund Dash and Costume Contest: The 9th Annual Wiener 500 Dachshund Dash for charity – watch the speediest Dachshunds in DC race for fame and fortune on the District Pier track and catch all the action on our 17 foot jumbotron screen. Sign up your Dachshund to race! If you don't have a Dachshund, you can still take part in the excitement with the all-breed dog costume contest.
German Fare and Stein Hoisting Contest: Visit restaurants for German inspired fare, Sam Adam Octoberfest bier and to test your strength in an official stein hoisting contest. Make a reservation to participate in the stein hoisting competitions at the following restaurants:
