The Wharf Ice Rink

Skate with monumental views at The Wharf Ice Rink. From November through February, come to Transit Pier right outside The Anthem and lace up your skates—bring your own or rent some rink-side—to glide over the ice and enjoy amazing views of the water. While you’re here, treat yourself to some hot beverages and seasonal specialties at our nearby restaurants and shops!

- Wednesday, December 10 - Opens at 7pm
- Monday, December 22 - Opens at 6pm
- Thursday, January 29 - Closed for a private event

Public Skating Hours

- Wednesday - Friday: 4pm-10pm
- Saturday: 12 pm-10pm 
- Sunday: 12 pm - 8pm

Hours of operation are dependent on weather and condition of the ice. The Wharf Ice Rink may close to the public at any time due to a private event. All closures will be shared on this webpage as far in advance as possible. Last admissions are sold 15 minutes prior to the rink closing.

Know Before You Arrive

  • The Wharf Ice Rink does not accept cash.
  • Figure skates AND hockey skates available. Whole sizes only.
  • Smallest skate is a child's size 9. Largest size is a size 15 hockey skate.
  • The Wharf Ice Rink operates on a first come, first served basis—we do not accept reservations.
  • The Wharf Ice Rink does not host ice skating lessons.
  • Your paid admission is valid for the entire business day as long as you are wearing the wristband you received with your initial admission. 
  • Last admissions sold 15 minutes before closing.
  • Gift certificates are available for purchase. Contact the General Manager at icerink@wharfdc.com for more information.
