The Wharf Ice Rink

Experience The Wharf Ice Rink—DC’s only over-water ice skating rink. From November through February, come to Transit Pier right outside The Anthem and lace up your skates—bring your own or rent some rink-side—to glide over the ice and enjoy amazing views of the water and monuments. While you’re here, treat yourself to some hot beverages and seasonal specialties at our nearby restaurants and shops!

Admissions are valid all day as long as the you are wearing the wristband you received with your initial purchase.

LAST ADMISSIONS ARE SOLD 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO CLOSING.
Hours of operation are dependent on weather and condition of the ice. The Wharf Ice Rink may close to the public at any time due to a private event. All closures will be shared on this webpage as far in advance as possible.

Curling and Cocktails
Looking for a fun way to spend some time outside this winter? Join us for free Curling & Cocktails at The Wharf Ice Rink every Wednesday starting January 15 through February 19. No skates are needed and we've got the stones and brooms, all you need is a few friends ready to have some fun. Pre-registration is required, learn more here.

Rock the Rink Watch Parties
Cheer on the Capitals at their upcoming away games on January 16 and February 22! Watch the game on the jumbotron and skate at the ice rink. Be sure to #RocktheRed - fans wearing Capitals gear receive $5 off admission to The Wharf Ice Rink.

Know Before You Arrive

• The Wharf Ice Rink does not accept cash.
• Figure skates AND hockey skates available. 
• Smallest skate is a child's size 9.  Largest size is a size 15 hockey skate.
• The Wharf Ice Rink operates on a first come, first served basis—we do not except reservations.
• The Wharf Ice Rink does not host ice skating lessons.
• SKATE ALL DAY! Your paid admission is valid for the entire business day as long as you are wearing the wristband you received with your initial admission.
