Experience The Wharf Ice Rink—DC’s only over-water ice skating rink. From November through February, come to Transit Pier right outside The Anthem and lace up your skates—bring your own or rent some rink-side—to glide over the ice and enjoy amazing views of the water and monuments. While you’re here, treat yourself to some hot beverages and seasonal specialties at our nearby restaurants and shops

Regular Hours of Operation

Monday-Tuesday: Closed
Wednesday: 4pm-10 pm (no public skating in January and February due to Curling events)
Thursday-Friday: 4pm-10pm
Saturday: 12pm-10pm
Sunday: 12pm - 8pm
Hours of operation are dependent on weather and condition of the ice. The Wharf Ice Rink may close to the public at any time due to a private event. All closures will be shared on this webpage as far in advance as possible.

Know Before You Arrive

• The Wharf Ice Rink is a CASHLESS facility.
• We have figure skates AND hockey skates available.
• The Wharf Ice Rink operates on a first come, first served basis—no reservations are accepted. 
• The Wharf Ice Rink does not host ice skating lessons.
• Your admissions ticket is valid for the entire day that it was purchased. If you leave The Wharf Ice Rink and return on the same day, you do not need to repurchase another admission ticket as long as you are still wearing your wristband. You would be required to re-rent skates ($8) each time you return during that day. 
• Gift certificates are available for purchase. Contact the General Manager of The Wharf Ice Rink at icerink@wharfdc.com for more information.
