Following more than a decade of planning and development, and four years of operation, The Wharf will be substantially completed by October 12, 2022—five years from the date The Wharf opened its first phase. The much-anticipated preliminary line-up of retail businesses and restaurants joining The Wharf include Philippe Chow, Lucky Buns, Bartaco, and more. 

Pendry Hotels & Resorts recently announced the appointment of Pascal Forotti as general manager of Pendry Washington D.C. – The Wharf, scheduled to open Fall 2022. Forotti joins the Pendry Hotels & Resorts family with more than 25 years of luxury hospitality experience having worked globally from the United States to Costa Rica, England, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, and Canada.

In his new role as General Manager, Forotti will oversee all aspects of hotel operations at Pendry's newest hotel, which features 131 guestrooms, including 34 suites, three signature dining and bar concepts, including a rooftop lounge with panoramic views, a state-of-the-art Spa Pendry, and 5,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space.

The Wharf and the Washington Capitals have teamed up to present Capitals at The Wharf, a Capitals-themed setting located at The Wharf. Through February, stop by the firepit in District Square and The Wharf Ice Rink to enjoy Capitals-themed décor. 

Each year, the District's Holiday Boat Parade features over sixty beautifully-decorated boats parading along the Washington Channel. As the boats pass by The Wharf, judges evaluate parade participants' theme, crew, decorations, and holiday spirit. The Wharf is proud to announce the following prize-winning boats and captains from the 2021 District's Holiday Boat Parade.

The Wharf partners with Jack Daniel's and the Washington Capitals for Operation Ride Home, a program that helps bring junior military members home for the holidays. 

D.C.'s only luxury waterfront hotel, InterContinental Washington DC-The Wharf, unveiled a new full-service spa featuring personalized treatments and stunning views.

Bistro Du Jour at The Wharf opens on November 3, 2021, bringing an all-day Parisian café to the corner of Wharf Street and District Square along the waterfront. The bistro, which offers breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner seven days a week, features pastries from Mah Ze Dahr bakery, coffee from La Colombe, and extensive wine and aperitif list.
